Parmi tou·tes les artistes avec qui il avait travaillé, c’est David Coverdale qui a rendu l’information publique ce week-end : Martin Birch est décédé ce dimanche 9 août. Âgé de 71 ans, et avec 50 ans de carrière en tant que producteur pour de nombreux groupes de hard rock/metal notamment (Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden…), Birch était également connu pour son travail sur les premiers albums de Fleetwood Mac.

Sa disparition sonne donc comme une lourde perte pour la scène rock, et c’est sans surprise qu’on a vu quelques personnalités, notamment Geezer Butler (bassiste de Black Sabbath) lui rendre hommage après l’annonce de sa mort.
