A l’occasion de la sortie imminente de son album « Pure Comedy », l’Américain en profite pour faire son retour sur Twitter. Hilarant.
Deux ans après I Love You, Honeybear, l’ancien membre des Fleet Foxes s’apprête à sortir un nouveau disque engagé : Pure Comedy. En attendant sa sortie, l’Américain nous a récemment gratifié d’une émouvante prestation du titre éponyme sur le plateau de SNL et du clip Ballad of the Dying Man.

Et hier, dimanche 19 mars, Father John Misty dévoilait une série de trois nouveaux titres ironiquement intitulée Generic Pop Songs. Après ses protest songs (s’insurgeant contre l’arrivée au pouvoir de Donald Trump), voici donc venu trois chansons pop, dont les paroles aux apparences banales masquent à peine l’humour caustique de son auteur. Generic Pop Song #3, Generic Pop Song #9 et Generic Pop Song #16, sont à écouter ci-dessous :

Concerts Father John Misty sera ce soir en concert privé au Café de la Danse (Paris) et au festival d’été BBK Bilbao en juillet prochain.
L’album Pure Comedy sortira le 7 avril sur le label Sub Pop. Il est d’ores et déjà disponible en précommande sur Apple Music.
