Il s’agit du dernier à avoir rejoint la tristement longue liste des artistes disparus en 2020. Après Florian Schneider, Tony Allen ou encore Christophe, Little Richard a été vaincu par un cancer des os à 87 ans, comme l’a tristement révélé ce week-end Rolling Stone.

La disparition du musicien, considéré comme l’un des pères fondateurs du rock and roll, a provoqué une vague d’hommages sur Internet, où se sont mobilisés certains des plus grands artistes de l’industrie. Sur Twitter, on retient notamment les messages de Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards et Elton John, qui, tous, saluent une dernière fois le chanteur et partagent leur tristesse sur le réseau social.
I played some shows with him in Europe in the early nineties and got to hang out in his dressing room a lot. He was always generous, kind and humble. And still dynamite as a performer and a musician and you could still learn plenty from him.
